It went from raining for 2 solid months to HOT, sunny, and humid, just like that. Oh, snap! Had to turn the air on for the first time last week. I can’t complain, we’ve turned it on in February before. This year, we actually had springlike weather, and a nice long break from the heat. I promised my husband this year that I would lay off the moaning and groaning about how hot it is. He LOVES summer. Me, I could skip over the entire season, and be happy as a lark (an old saying my grandmother used to say). I’m going to stay positive though. I am!! I’m going to take 5 showers a day, and I’m not going to complain. Yeah, sure. haha

I’ve been drinking too much caffeine lately. I’ve been feeling pretty icky, so I decided to cut back to only one cup a day. I did okay for 2 days, but yesterday, I was having a rough time. Feeling really lethargic, and didn’t get anything done. Took a nap in the middle of the day, which I NEVER allow myself to do, unless I’m sick. I wasn’t sick, just felt soooo sleepy. It turned into a FOUR hour nap. Who takes a four hour nap???

Maybe I shouldn’t have cut my intake so drastically. Maybe I should have cut back more gradually, so my body didn’t go into shock. Yeah. Probably. Does that mean I can drink more today? Say yes!! Please, say yes!! I don’t want another day of sleep. I need to get some studio work done!!

Ironically, I’ve been painting these sleeping girls lately. I never noticed until just now that my paintings coincide with the conversation, and what I’ve been experiencing lately. haha It’s a giant snoozefest around here lately.

So, how many cups of coffee or tea do you drink a day? Are you constantly struggling with consuming too much, like me? If I told you how many times I’ve quit caffeine, you probably wouldn’t believe me. haha I always go back to it, and a few months down the line, I always end up drinking too much, and being in this place where I want to quit. It’s never ending. Arrgh! Moderation, Katie. Ever heard of it? lol

I thought she should be pale. I was in a muted color kind of mood. She screamed back at me, “I want to be colorful.” So, she’s more colorful. Who am I to argue with my paintings? 😉
