I’ve begun dismantling, merging, and deleting some of my online accounts, and there probably will be more upheaval within the next couple weeks. I wanted to let you know in case you noticed something weird going on..it’s just me making much needed adjustments in the background.

You know how people choose a word for the year instead of making New Year’s resolution? I’ve always thought a year is too long, and that I need to pick a word at the beginning of each month instead. This month I’m doing just that, and my word is simplify. I’m going to spend all of July making things easier.

Things are crazy around here. I have too many social media accounts, and online shops. The past couple weeks, it’s been taking a toll on my mental health..again. I’m so overwhelmed with everything work related that I’m having a hard time sleeping at night. I’m waking up with panic attacks because I keep forgetting to do stuff. Something had to give.

I started counting how many accounts I have that I’m trying to keep updated every day, and I was shocked. 12 social media accounts, and 5 online shops is what I came up with, and that didn’t include blogging. How did everything get so out of control?

Thinking back, it started to get crazy when I started my second Etsy shop five years ago. Because my two painting styles are so different, I separated my portraits from my palette knife paintings. It’s been an ongoing struggle ever since to keep up the pace. I’m constantly neglecting something, and I hate the feeling of failing day in and out.

I’ve decided to close down one of my Etsy shops (Art By Katie Jeanne), and all my social media accounts associated with it. The shop will remain open until the listings expire in November, but I won’t be updating it any longer. I’m also doing away with the screen name “Miz Katie”, and all social media accounts linked to it, except Flickr, which I can’t change without creating a whole new account.

From now on, all my art will be under my name – Katie Jeanne Wood.
