Starry Eye
art journal page
This page kinda sticks out in my art journal, and feels like it doesn’t belong with the rest because it’s so cool blue. I mostly prefer warmer colors in my work, but there was a reason behind using blue on this page. I knew I was going to title it Starry Eye, and to me, being starry eyed feels blue. I wanted the blue to represent sadness in this piece.
Being starry eyed feels fantastic, at first, but it means you’re not seeing reality. It’s only a make believe bandaid for a short time, and then you have to pull it off because you can’t stay in La La Land forever..and OUCH does that ever hurt when you expose your wounded self to yourself and others.
Lucky for her, she’s only half starry eyed.
I often go back in, and make drastic changes to my art journal after I post it here. Because the pages become personal, I usually keep them private after the revisions have been made.
