Yet another shit storm going on at Etsy rained down on sellers without warning on Wednesday. Oh how they love to surprise us, don’t they?

I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet. Like I said the news came out of the blue, as it usually does from Etsy. I’m trying to figure out how to deal with the changes, but this is most likely the final nail in the Etsy coffin for me. After 15 years of rolling with every jab and punch to the gut that Etsy’s given their sellers, I’m more than exhausted.

I’m not going to have a knee jerk reaction, and put my shop into vacation mode like some sellers are doing. I mean, I have 340 listings up, and so much time/money invested, it wouldn’t be in my best interest. However, I am taking a harder look at alternatives, so I can get off this big ole stinking sinking ship asap.

This new venue looks very promising, and it’s launching at a time when handmade sellers need it most. 100% of the profit they make in seller fees will be going to charity!! Would you rather feed a starving kid or keep paying bloated fees to Etsy, so their workers can sit in luxury, and appear oh so cool while they’re busy dreaming up greedy new ways of treating their sellers like crap? The answer is easy for me – boy bye! No more lining the pockets of investors wearing $3000 suits.
