Old Studio Pic

I wrote about my studio being in the walk-in closet when we first moved into this house. I couldn’t find a photo of it at that time, but look what I just found. It was so tight in there, I couldn’t easily sit in the chair without it being up against the wall, literally. But, where there’s a will, there’s a way, as the old saying goes. I made lots of art in this tiny space. Mostly book art, like art journals and altered books. I also made handmade books. I hadn’t bought any canvas at this point, yet, which was probably a good thing. Where would I have put the easel? lol

No matter where you’re making art, keep making it! It’s important.

Did you know that Dick Blick is having a big sale? I always wait for sales, and buy in bulk, so I can get free shipping. I never pay full price for art supplies that way. Artists need all the breaks they can get. Art supplies aren’t cheap, says the art supply junkie, who just spent $300 at Blick a couple weeks ago. Ow!

Thanksgiving dinner last night was sooo fun! One of our guests was 2 years old, and what a little treasure he is. So much fun, and full of life! Greg and I were both exhausted after they left. We just sat on the couch, and didn’t move. Finally, he looked at me and said, “I’ve forgotten what it’s like to have little kids around. I’m tiiiiiired.” lol I think it’s okay to say everyone had a great time. 🙂 It was fun to dress up and put makeup on, too. I usually look like a raggamuffin..all covered in paint, wearing sweatpants all day, hair up in a bun. It felt human to wear a skirt, and let my long hair down. I hope we can do this again real soon, and not wait for a holiday to get together.

Oh, my precious Sweet Pea. She might be blind, but she sure doesn’t miss a thing. I dropped a tube of paint the other day. I went to pick it up about 5 or 10 mins later, and she had flipped around in her bed, and was using it as a pillow. She was so cute, I had to take her picture. Oh, yes.
