hardboard panels
I wrote about splined canvas the other day. It’s my favorite substrate to use, but I won’t be using it much longer. I’m going to eventually (when I start painting again) use up what I have on hand (about 10 canvases or less). I’ll only be buying more if someone requests canvas for a custom order.
In the past year or two, I’ve been making a change. I’ve been painting less and less on canvas, and more on watercolor paper & flat panels because it takes up far less room to store. Can you imagine if the stacks of paintings I’ve been posting here lately were canvas? Omgosh, the amount of storage space I’d need for them would be incredible.
The photo above shows yet another (third) huge stack that I’m in the process of photographing and listing. That makes an overwhelming total of alllll this..
66 of them so far
and more to come
If you think artists do nothing but sit around all day waiting for something to inspire them, you’re more than welcome to come over to my house any time. You can see for yourself what really happens behind the scene, and I sure could use the help. lol Please wear a mask, and help yourself to the low carb, no sugar peanut butter cookies I will make for you. mmm..

Abstract No 150
Why do I have so many paintings, you ask? These paintings are all from my (Art By Katie Jeanne) Etsy shop, which I closed down last year. Looking back now, it might have been easier to keep both shops open, but I wanted to cut down on my working hours. haha..yeaaaahhh. I know it doesn’t quite make sense since I’m retaking all the photos, and re-listing every painting in my main shop.
Believe it or not, doing all this extra work is still far easier than having two Etsy shops with hundreds of items in each one. I think of my work as a whole now – abstracts, floral, birds, landscapes, and portraits, and not separate paintings/style for each Etsy shop..and having to juggle between them. One shop is much easier.

Landscape No 60
Most of these paintings are going straight into my clearance sale because seeing photos of all these paintings makes me feel like a hoarder, and that’s not what I wanted to be when I grew up. So please..take some of these off my hands, will you? lol

ps: I mentioned custom orders above. I’m no longer taking orders that have a Christmas deadline. I forgot to mention it this year, but the cutoff was November 1st. I’ve had to turn people away because there just isn’t enough time.
Please keep in mind that because of covid, extra shipping time is going to be needed this year, since so many people are buying their gifts online. It recently took almost a month for a gift I bought to travel from NY to CO. It’s not the norm, but something to keep in mind as the holidays get closer.
