Blue abstract painting
art journal
We were all silent except for blink, blink, blink, blink, blink.
It was a cold December morning, and I wanted to paint what silence felt like to me – calm, meditative, peaceful, and serene. It was early morning, still dark outside, and the rest of the city hadn’t woken up yet. It was just me, the sound of my breath leaving and entering my body, my stomach rising and falling, and my palette knife going scritchie scratch on the paper. The light from my lamp created a lovely reflective shine on this page, making it look like ice.
To be more poetic, I’m omitting the part about the loud cat fights going on under my feet, and this little one tearing through the house at top kitteh speed…
I don’t think I ever introduced Gus.
Aka Gussy Wussy
He’s been the newest rescued fur-kid
in the house since last June.
There has been little to no quiet in the house
since then.
😹😻🐱
Had to dig deep into my imagination
to create that journal page.
Aww!
Wook at himz.

Have a lovely creative weekend! What does silence feel like to you? Paint it!!

Playing in theaters now! See my artwork in a new movie – The Whale starring Brendan Fraser.
I’ve been busy slashing prices in my eBay store and on Etsy. Some artwork I have marked down to only $10 or $15. I’m trying to clear out older paintings, so I have room for the new ones.
As always, if you want to say hello or have any questions you can write me here. I love getting email, and hearing from you.
Other places to find me online.
