Zen Garden In The Snow
Acrylic abstract painting
on museum quality splined canvas
I painted this abstract art on museum quality splined canvas sometime over the winter. I still want to explore more of this series at some point. Although I switched to painting portraits, I don’t feel like I’m finished with making abstracts.
I can usually tell when I’m finished with a series because I feel completely empty on the inside..exhausted to the core or sometimes, bored out of my mind with the thought of having to make another painting. That’s definitely not how I feel about this series. I actually can’t wait to make more of these, and work more with these colors.
This Zen garden painting brought me a lot of comfort and peace over the winter when the temperature was frigid outside. I would trace slowly over the circles with my eyes, and do a bit of object meditation. Very relaxing. May it bring peace and happiness for whoever hangs it on their wall next.
PS: This painting has inspired me to make my own Zen garden indoors. My husband gifted me a wide white handmade pottery bowl that will be perfect. I also have a bag of sand that I bought at Dick Blick’s. Now all I need is a mini rake, and maybe a rock or two.
I hope you have a lovely, peaceful, creative day. If you like this blog post, please share it using the buttons below.
