It just occurred to me that I never posted a photo of my oil palette. These are the colors I mixed for the portraits I’ve created so far. I keep mixing more as I paint.
As I said in one of my other posts, not all the paint here is from the 1980s Gamblin series. There weren’t enough colors options on the Gamblin site, so I’m using what I already have on hand.
One of the reds I used was Williamsburg Cad Red, and another was Gamblin Alizarin Crimson. I forgot to mention I’m also using Williamsburg Cerulean Blue French to make the purplish gray for undertones, and shadows. I have added a couple more colors to the palette since taking this photo, which I’ll write about another time maybe.
