I didn’t paint many men portraits up until about 2 years ago, but now I can’t stop. Won’t stop.

I resisted painting men because I wasn’t sure if I could pull off painting them expressively. I’m all about painting emotion, and storytelling. I focused on painting women because I’m a woman.

I don’t know what it feels like to be a man, so how can I possibly paint them was my old way of thinking, but emotion is emotion, no matter who is feeling it.

What I’ve discovered is – my silly sense of humor comes through more when I’m painting men than women. And, the more I paint men, the happier, and more inspired I am to paint more.

These guys are characters, aren’t they? I think they each have a story to tell, but I’ll leave that up to you as a viewer to decide what their stories might be. Having quite a vivid imagination, my brain conjures up different stories each time I look at these guys.

After writing this post, I saw this comical yt short by Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne titled Would you rather be a male or female if reborn? It kinda goes along with what I wrote above. Ozzy said he doesn’t know what it’s like being a female.
If you’re not familiar, Ozzy is also an artist, although he doesn’t show his artwork publicly. I’m not sure what his favorite subjects are to create, but I can’t help wonder if he paints or draws females? If so, I wonder if it’s difficult for him or if he’s having as much fun with it as I do painting men?
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you’re having a fabulous evening.
