From Amazon:
The page-turning psychological thriller from the author of #1 bestsellers The Magpies and Because She Loves Me.
It was supposed to be the trip of a lifetime, a final adventure before settling down. But after a perfect start, an encounter with a young couple on a night train forces Daniel and Laura to cut their dream trip short and flee home.
Back in London, Daniel and Laura vow never to talk about what happened that night. But as they try to fit into their old lives again, they realise they are in terrible danger—and that their nightmare is just beginning…
Like a lot of the reviews say, it starts off slow, but once you get going it’s a page turner. I’m about 1/3 of the way through it, and so far I’d give it 3.5 stars.
Last week, I finished up Wreckage, and was a bit disappointed in it. I would only give it 2 stars. It started to repeat itself too much, and eh..I couldn’t wait to finish it after I got about 3/4 of the way through. It dragged on, and I had pretty much lost interest. I started speed reading, taking in whole paragraphs at a glance, just to get through it. There were a couples surprises, but I couldn’t bring myself to care all that much about any of the characters.
I then moved on to South on Highland: A Novel, which is about drug and alcohol addiction. The reviews say it’s humorous, but I’ve haven’t come to those parts yet. I’m 17% into it, which isn’t far, I know, but I’m not sure if I want to continue. The subject matter is kinda boring to me, so that’s why I started to read Follow You Home. Idk..I’ll look at the reviews again after I finish this one, and possibly give it another try. Maybe I need to lighten up when I read it, but it’s a serious subject matter, so it’s difficult.
What are you reading this week? Let me know in the comments.
