Mixed media portrait paintings
created with chalk paint,
craft paint, and gouache
I liked the portraits I created in my art journal so much that I decided to use my paintings as reference photos for these paintings. This time I used 135 lb paper, so I can offer them for sale.
She had large, questioning eyes that seemed to draw me in and a sense of quiet outrage that simmered just beneath the surface. More than anything, within her features, there was a streak of wild quirkiness that made her dazzlingly attractive.
I shot all these photos the night I was painting them. I might have added brush strokes here & there after I took the photos. It was after midnight, and I had been painting for hours by then, so my memory is blurry.
I’ll show you the finished paintings once I have them scanned & photographed.
