These are work in progress shots I took while I was drawing the second masquerade mask portrait. Since the Conte crayons smudged a bit into the background, I decided to leave it alone, and paint over the smudges later with acrylic paint.
I was drawing at night, as I usually do, after I get my office work done for the day. Looking at these photos, I can see why I thought the portraits were coming along fine.
It wasn’t until I had all 10 of them finished, and photographed that I was able to see them better. In the light of my lamp, they looked okay. If I had known what the outcome was going to be, I would have stopped at the first one. I’ll explain more on Friday, and show you the final results. Stay tuned.
